Come abbiamo già detto nel capitolo verbi modali non c'è bisogno di nessuna preposizione per un infinito a un verbo modale. Ma, come sempre, ci sono delle eccezioni. Dopo ougth to, need to e used to, si aggiunge un infinito con la preposizione to.

Un caso speciale è dare to. In questo caso si può aggiungere l'infinito con o senza to.
